Druadrua School

Drua Drua School joined the project in order to plant more crops in their already existing school garden. They also wanted to utilise the school garden to teach lessons, and how to take care of the environment.

Teaching garden activities:

• Implemented teaching activity on measuring the perimeter of the garden beds and making the plot
• Integrated the school garden crops in an English activity about How to Make a Vegetable Salad
• Conducted an activity on fractions while planting seeds

Garden activities:

• Weeding, planting, and preparing garden beds
• Planting bean seeds in recycled plastic bottles
• Harvesting cabbages

Composting activities:

• Creating awareness in composting
• Home-composting by students
• Setting up of compost barrel and asking the school community to put their vegetables and peelings in there
