The school is confident that the teaching activities and relationships with parents, which are both related to the school garden project, are going well. Throughout 2025 and continuing to 2026, the school maintained their school garden and implemented teaching activities integrated with the school garden.
Teaching garden activities:
They have integrated the school garden into multiple subjects across their curriculum:
Science: Lessons on plant life cycles, parts of a plant, what plants need to grow, habitats, medicinal plants, and conducting practical plant observations.
Maths: Hands-on lessons involving measurement (length/growth tracking) and addition.
Health & Physical Education (HPE): Lessons distinguishing between healthy and unhealthy foods using our fresh produce.
English/Literacy: Creative and descriptive writing exercises inspired by the garden.
Social Studies: Learning about the environment, sustainability, and community.”
Garden activities:
Preparation & Maintenance: Cleaned and cleared the garden area after the break, prepped the soil, and continued taking care of the existing plants established last year
